Sun Shine Eggs
The sun is earth's source of light and warmth. Many cultures considered the sun as a god or deity and a symbol of power.
Celestial objects such as the sun, moon and stars may hold great religious and spiritual significance and frequently appear in folk and peasant art.
All solar symbols include variations of the circle. Circles represent continuity and the changes in nature such as the four seasons; winter, spring, summer and fall, day and night, life and death. Spiritual attributes of the sun include the symbol of life, good fortune, personal growth. Star attributes include new birth, happiness, prosperity and good fortune.
Color the sun and celestial theme images with crayons or markers. Embroider or crochet the sun and celestial designs onto pillow cases and hanker chiefs. Make sun and celestial theme coasters or place mats for beverage containers or table settings.
Print, cut out the sun and celestial images with scissors, color, and decorate with crayons, markers, paper, beads, fabric, glue, paint, glitter, ribbon, yarn, tape, cotton balls, feathers. Print and trace the designs onto multi-color fun craft foam sheets to create colorful soft face masks. Use the left over trimmings of foam pieces to cut and paste designs and shapes onto the mask.
